The big day that you’ve dreamed of and planned for so long will soon be a reality. You want it to be perfect, from the dress, to the venue, to the photographer. This day is all about making memories and starting a lifetime together with your groom. Naturally, you want to look and feel your very best, and that requires a little planning in and of itself. There are an overwhelming number of cosmetic treatments available, and knowing which ones to combine and when can be daunting. That’s where we come in! Follow this treatment timeline, and you’ll never feel more beautiful than you do on your wedding day.
Cosmetic Treatments 6-12 Months Prior to Wedding
Skin Care Consultation – The first step in any new skin care regimen or cosmetic treatment process should be a consultation with your dermatologist. He or she will help you develop a timeline of services that works best within your schedule and needs. They can also recommend products and prescribe medications should they be necessary. The earlier you can start this process, the greater your options and results will be.
Laser Treatments – Whether you’re considering IPL for hair removal or a fractional laser for uneven skin tone, laser treatments are always a process you want to start well in advance of a big event. Down time can vary from one option to the next, and they almost always require a series of treatments over several weeks or months to achieve the best results.
Cosmetic Treatments 3-6 Months Prior to Wedding
Microneedling – Microneedling is a great way to rejuvenate the skin without the need for downtime or visible side effects. At most, you may appear as those you’ve had a light sunburn for a few days. However, multiple sessions are going to give the most impressive results. For this reason, you’ll want to start these a few months before the big day.
Chemical Peels – Chemical peels come in varying strengths of light, medium, and heavy. Which you receive should depend on the severity of your concerns. Of course, the deeper the peel, the more downtime that will be required. Some peels only lightly penetrate the skin and result in minimal or even no peeling or redness. However, deeper options that deliver the most dramatic results such as combination Jessner’s / TCA peels can leave the skin peeling and red for days. Additionally, there are some peels which should be performed in a series, lengthening the necessary timeline.
Cosmetic Treatments 1 Month Prior to Wedding
Injectables are perfect for use in the weeks immediately before your wedding. Whether a facial relaxer such as Botox or Dysport or a filler such as Juvederm, these treatments typically deliver speedy results and only require occasional touch-ups. They can be great for smoothing out wrinkles and fine lines or for plumping lips. However, results can appear gradually depending on the product, and you’ll want to know exactly what to expect on the day of your wedding. So, give yourself a buffer of at least a couple of weeks between treatment and the big day.
